Mae allyriadau nwyon t\u0177 gwydr, yn enwedig methan, yn ganolog i\u2019r drafodaeth &#8211; ac mae sut yr ydym ni\u2019n ymateb yn diffinio dyfodol ein diwydiant. Mae\u2019n destun o bwys, heddiw yn fwy nag erioed, ac os cymerwn ni\u2019r camau cywir, nid diogelu ein sector yn unig a wnawn ni &#8211; bydd yn dod yn rhan o\u2019r ateb i newid hinsawdd. Mae hynny\u2019n dechrau gyda dysgu gan eraill sydd eisoes ar flaen y gad &#8211; a dod a&#8217;r gwersi yna adre mewn ffyrdd sy\u2019n gwneud synnwyr ymarferol. Dyna pam y gwnes i ddewis y testun yma a pham mai r\u0175an yw\u2019r amser iawn i\u2019w archwilio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fel rhywun sy\u2019n gweithio yn niwydiant da byw Cymru, mae Ben yn gweld cyfle a her i\u2019r sector cig coch. Meddai: \u201cDrwy fy ngwaith, dw i\u2019n cael profiad uniongyrchol o\u2019r balchder a\u2019r pwysau mae cynhyrchwyr cig coch yn ei deimlo pan mae\u2019n dod i berfformiad amgylcheddol. Mae hyn wedi fy arwain at ddatblygu diddordeb cryf mewn helpu ffermwyr i daro\u2019r cydbwysedd cywir rhwng cynhyrchu a chynaliadwyedd.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mae\u2019n bwriadu canolbwyntio ar systemau ffermio yn Iwerddon, yr Iseldiroedd a\u2019r Swistir, ac mae\u2019n mynd i fynychu Symposiwm y Ffederasiwn Glaswelltir Ewropeaidd yn Reading am fewnwelediad pellach i ddulliau rheoli glaswelltir cynaliadwy. \u201cBydd yr ysgoloriaeth yn caniat\u00e1u i mi ddysgu gan wledydd sydd ar flaen y gad o ran integreiddio strategaethau allyriadau isel mewn systemau ffermio go iawn, a dyna pam y dewisais ganolbwyntio ar Ewrop. Mae gwledydd yn Ewrop yn cynnig systemau ffermio amrywiol ond perthnasol, fframweithiau polisi cryf ac enghreifftiau ymarferol o sut y gall cynhyrchu cig coch weithio ochr yn ochr ag amcanion hinsawdd a chynaliadwyedd, wrth gystadlu gyda\u2019r heriau sy\u2019n debyg i\u2019r rhai yr ydym ni\u2019n eu hwynebu yma yng Nghymru.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDw i eisiau cyfrannu at ddyfodol cynaliadwy sy\u2019n meithrin y tir a\u2019r genhedlaeth nesaf, a helpu i siapio diwydiant sy\u2019n falch o\u2019i orffennol, yn uchelgeisiol am ei ddyfodol, ac yn barod i wneud cynaliadwyedd yn real ac yn ymarferol ar lefel y fferm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meddai James Ruggeri, Swyddog Gweithredol Datblygu\u2019r Diwydiant yn HCC: \u201cRydym ni\u2019n falch iawn i gyhoeddi mai Ben yw enillydd Ysgoloriaeth HCC eleni. Mae ganddo brofiad ymarferol o weithio ar ffermydd, ac mae ei waith ymgynghorol yn golygu bod o eisoes yn cefnogi ffermwyr gyda\u2019r heriau y mae\u2019n gobeithio ymchwilio ymhellach iddynt gydag astudiaeth ei ysgoloriaeth. Mae\u2019n awyddus i ddod yn \u00f4l i rannu dulliau ymarferol sy\u2019n gweithio y gellir eu defnyddio yng Nghymru, a bydd yn eu rhannu gyda\u2019r ffermwyr a\u2019r busnesau y mae\u2019n gweithio gyda nhw bob dydd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMae ei gefndir, ei ymrwymiad hirdymor i\u2019r diwydiant a\u2019i angerdd yn ei wneud yn ymgeisydd perffaith ar gyfer ein Hysgoloriaeth, ac edrychwn ymlaen at glywed am ei brofiadau a\u2019i ganfyddiadau yn ystod y flwyddyn i ddod.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mae HCC wedi bod yn cynnig yr ysgoloriaeth yma\u2019n flynyddol ers dros ugain mlynedd i ymgeiswyr sy\u2019n gweithio\u2019n llawn amser o fewn diwydiant cig coch Cymru.
