Bydd wyth o gynhyrchwyr defaid a chig eidion o Gymru yn cael eu dewis ar gyfer prosiect cynaliadwyedd arweiniol sydd \u00e2\u2019r nod o asesu effaith amgylcheddol ffermwyr ar draws y DU.<\/p>\n

Mae\u2019r prosiect, o\u2019r enw Prosiect Llinell Sylfaen yr Amgylchedd, yn fenter ar y cyd rhwng y cyrff ardoll cig coch Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC), AHDB a QMS. Bwriad y gwaith yw ailddiffinio sut y caiff ffermwyr eu hystyried am gynhyrchu bwyd a gwarchod yr amgylchedd, yn ogystal ag effaith amaethyddiaeth a\u2019i botensial ar gyfer cynnydd amgylcheddol.<\/p>\n

Mae HCC yn gobeithio cydweithio gydag wyth busnes ffermio cig eidion a defaid o Gymru ar y prosiect, yn seiliedig ar ffactorau\u2019n ymwneud \u00e2 lleoliad daearyddol, tirwedd, y math o bridd a systemau.<\/p>\n

Bydd y cynhyrchwyr yn elwa o asesiadau megis stoc carbon, mapiau d\u0175r ffo, archwiliadau carbon a dadansoddi pridd ar eu ffermydd. Bydd adroddiadau\u2019n cael eu cynhyrchu a\u2019u rhannu gyda\u2019r cynhyrchwyr.<\/p>\n

Dr Eleri Thomas sy\u2019n cydlynu\u2019r prosiect ar ran HCC. Meddai: \u201cMae amaethyddiaeth yn cael ei gydnabod am gyfrannu at allyriadau. Ond, yn wahanol i ddiwydiannau eraill, mae gan ffermydd cig eidion a defaid Cymru gyfle unigryw i storio carbon tra\u2019n cynhyrchu protein o ansawdd uchel sy\u2019n werthfawr yn niet pobl.<\/p>\n

\u201cDyma brosiect cyffrous i fod yn rhan ohono os ydych chi\u2019n angerddol am gynaliadwyedd a\u2019r diwydiant.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bydd y ffermydd sy\u2019n rhan o\u2019r prosiect yn darparu tystiolaeth i arddangos sut y gall ffermydd Cymru fod yn gynhyrchiol ac, ar yr un pryd, storio carbon a gwrthbwyso allyriadau Nwyon T\u0177 Gwydr o fewn eu systemau ffermio eu hunain.<\/p>\n

Ychwanegodd Dr Thomas: \u201cBydd y data fferm pwerus yma yn help i ddiogelu\u2019r sector i\u2019r dyfodol, i greu data diweddar a pherthnasol yn hytrach na gorfod dibynnu ar ffigyrau hanesyddol cenedlaethol.<\/p>\n

\u201cMae gan y prosiect y gallu i arddangos effeithiau amgylcheddol a manteision ehangach cynhyrchu cig coch o fewn systemau cynhyrchu yng Nghymru. Ar yr un pryd, bydd yn asesu ffyrdd y gall ffermydd leihau nwyon t\u0177 gwydr, adeiladu stociau carbon, gwella iechyd pridd a chefnogi bioamrywiaeth.<\/p>\n

\u201cAr lefel unigol, bydd yn darparu gwybodaeth fanwl a data i ffermwyr am eu system \u2013 yn ogystal \u00e2 chefnogaeth i\u2019w ddadansoddi. Bydd hynny\u2019n eu galluogi i gymryd camau cadarnhaol tuag at ddyfodol cynaliadwy a phroffidiol.<\/p>\n

\u201cRydym ni\u2019n croesawu unrhyw gynhyrchwyr cig eidion a defaid sydd yn awyddus i fachu am y cyfle yma i ymuno \u00e2 ni yn HCC i arddangos pam mai\u2019r \u2018Ffordd Gymreig\u2019 o gynhyrchu cig coch yw un o\u2019r ffyrdd mwyaf cynaliadwy yn y byd.\u201d<\/p>\n
