Welsh Lamb was the star of the show at a number of overseas events to mark St David’s Day, including a reception Hong Kong, a dinner at the Dubai British Embassy with lamb chops cooked by Chef Russell Impiazzi, and Europe’s flagship St David’s Day reception in Brussels. The high-profile event at the British Residence in Brussels welcomes around 250 distiguished guests, including senior figures from European institutions, regional networks, trade and investment sectors, academia, the Welsh diaspora, and key partner organisations.

Another culinary event was held in the British residence in Rome which brought together a number of institutional representatives, leading media figures and representatives of the private sector. The evening’s menu was a journey through the flavours, symbols and stories of Wales to the accompaniment of traditional Welsh music. Welsh Lamb supplied by HCC was served as the main course with two dishes created by a Michelin starred chef: PGI Welsh Lamb loin in crust and PGI Welsh Lamb prosciutto with balsamic vinegar and mustard. The latter is a dish that is quite literally fit for a king – it was created in honour of the Royal Family and was first served to H.R.H. King Charles III in 2009, and again in 2025.
