Make your views heard on the future of the Welsh red meat sector.

HCC’s strategic purpose and priorities, underpinned by the Red Meat Industry (Wales) Measure 2010, is established from its ‘vision’ document. This is an important document that sets the foundations to build the future of the industry and acts as a blueprint for HCC to support and unite all elements of the sector and supply chain.

The current vision, Red Meat Vision for Wales’ was developed with the industry and runs up to the end of April 2026, in line with the Senedd term.

Levy payers across Wales are encouraged to support the development of the next vision document – Vision 2030 – by sharing their views on the challenges, opportunities and priorities for the industry.

A short online survey can be completed by clicking here. The survey will be open until Friday 25 July. All entrants will be entered into a prize draw with a chance of winning a Welsh produce hamper worth £100.

Alternatively, please come and talk to HCC to make your views heard at industry events or at livestock markets over the coming weeks (market visits are listed below).

A further opportunity to input into Vision 2030 will be possible from mid-July until the end of the summer. More detail to follow over the coming weeks as our survey findings inform our progress.

Vision 2030 will be published by the spring of 2026 following agreement from the HCC Board and approval by the Cabinet Secretary.
