PGI Welsh Lamb has made a return to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and secured a foothold in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabi (KSA) \u2013 Hybu Cig Cymru \u2013 Meat promotion Wales (HCC) is delighted to announce.<\/p>\n
Following extensive negotiations, and engagement work in those new and developing markets, Welsh Lamb will now be available in prominent retailers in Dubai and Riyadh.<\/p>\n
The GCC market is currently worth in excess of \u00a33.5 million to Welsh Lamb industry and consumers in both markets will be able to purchase the premium product when it\u2019s in season (October to January).<\/p>\n
Speaking after the product was launched in Riyadh, HCC\u2019s Market Development Lead Jason Craig said: \u201cI\u2019m delighted that after extensive negotiations and market development work, we are now seeing PGI Welsh Lamb return to the UAE and also making an entrance to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
\u201cWelsh Lamb is in high demand and is now exported to over 20 countries worldwide. The PGI mark of traceability has been a cornerstone of this trade, at home and abroad, since the designation was awarded in 2003.<\/p>\n
