Recommended Grass and Clover List

The Recommended Grass and Clover List allows farmers to make choices on the most appropriate grass and clover seeds for their farms using reliable, independent data. This dedicated booklet is an invaluable tool for farmers and seed merchants to choose seed mixtures based on the latest advances in genetics of grasses and clovers, enabling improvements in both financial and environmental sustainability for beef and sheep farms in Wales.

The varieties have all gone through independent rigorous testing across multiple UK sites and under stimulated grazing and conservation management. For 2025/2026 there are thirteen new varieties on the list including two white clovers a red clover along with eight perennial ryegrasses and two Italian ryegrasses.
