Welsh red meat levy body Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) will be attending the renowned Gulfood trade show taking place in Dubai between 26-30 January to promote PGI Welsh Lamb to a global audience.
HCC will have a presence in the Meat Hall at Gulfood as well as on the Welsh Government’s stand at the event which is held at the International Pavilion this year – ensuring a strong presence across the event. Additionally, HCC is sponsoring the BBC Good Food Awards which are taking place prior to Gulfood to promote PGI Welsh Lamb to food industry insiders, buyers and representatives from trade and hospitality. At the awards, PGI Welsh Lamb will be cooked and served by chef Russell Impiazzi.
The middle eastern markets remain a target for Welsh red meat exporters. The market has a strong demand for lamb products and also has a growing segment of UK expats.
Gulfood is one of the world’s largest food and drink trade shows and features over 8,500 exhibitors from over 130 countries. This year’s event is split over two sites, with the Meat Pavillion being hosted in the Dubai World Trade Centre and the International Pavillion being homed at the Dubai Expo. HCC will have a presence across both sites during the event.
HCC’s Market Development Lead, Jason Craig, commented: “ HCC will be returning to Gulfood in 2026 to connect Welsh exporters to buyers within the region.
