HCC recently attended the Royal College of Midwives’ St David’s Day conference in Swansea to highlight the important role of red meat during and post pregnancy.
It was an opportunity to talk to midwives and the wider midwifery community about the nutritional qualities of red meat whilst they enjoyed an opportunity to connect, collaborate and benefit from varying learning opportunities. HCC staff distributed recipes and resources on the important nutrients and vitamins included in red meat which could be shared with their patients.
The response from midwives was very positive with many agreeing on the importance of red meat as part of a healthy balanced diet during pregnancy and beyond.
