The Welsh Government is seeking to appoint four new Non-executive Directors to join the Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) Board.

Chaired by Catherine Smith, the board is comprised of individuals with varied experiences across the red meat supply chain. The members have a strong, sector‑wide skill set and experience spanning governance, agriculture, sustainability and marketing.

The role of the HCC Board is to oversee the executive and provide effective leadership. It defines and develops strategic direction and sets challenging objectives, whilst promoting high standards of public finance and upholding the principles of regularity, propriety, and value for money. The Board is responsible for monitoring HCC’s performance, ensuring it meets the aims, objectives and performance targets set out in the corporate and business plans.

Catherine Smith commented: “HCC will soon be launching Vision 2030 - a new strategic plan for the next four years - so this is a great time to join the Board at the start of a new and exciting chapter. If you’re keen to make a difference, are passionate about the Welsh red meat sector and want to help shape its future, this is a perfect opportunity for you.”

The closing date for applications is 16:00 on 23/01/2026.
