Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) recently exhibited at the Worldchefs Congress held in Newport, promoting the quality and heritage of PGI Welsh Lamb, PGI Welsh Beef, and Pork from Wales to a global audience of culinary professionals.

Working in partnership with the Welsh Government, HCC engaged with international chefs, industry leaders, and hospitality experts attending the prestigious event, which brings together representatives from across the world’s culinary sector. The congress, hosted in Wales for the first time, provided a valuable platform to highlight the unique provenance and sustainability credentials of Welsh red meat.

Visitors to our stand had the opportunity to sample dishes showcasing the distinct flavour and traceability of PGI Welsh Lamb and PGI Welsh Beef, as well as high-quality pork produced in Wales. Tastings emphasised the importance of geography, traditional farming practices, and strict production standards that underpin the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status.

The Worldchefs Congress in Newport  attracted delegates from over 100 countries, giving Welsh producers unprecedented exposure to decision-makers in the global food industry. For HCC, the event represents a significant step in growing awareness and international demand for Welsh meat and strengthening its position in high-end culinary markets.
